Officials overseeing the counting process have stated that the meticulous verification and tabulation of ballots could take several days, given the volume of votes and the complex preferential voting system employed. The ICAI follows a single transferable vote system, designed to ensure fair representation for all candidates and regions. With numerous candidates in the fray, the counting exercise is both intricate and time-consuming, requiring stringent checks and cross-verifications.
According to ICAI sources, the announcement of results is expected by early January, latest by 6th. Once the counting process concludes and the final tallies are verified, the ICAI will formally release the names of those elected to the Central Council as well as the four Regional Councils—Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western. Successful candidates are then set to take their places in shaping policy, guiding reforms, and developing the institute’s standing on national and international platforms.
