The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) directed the Candidates contesting in Council and Regional Councils Elections, 2021 not to send frequent unsolicited messages to Voters to avoid cluttering of the communication system.

“Members are complaining that they are receiving a number of unsolicited SMS, WhatsApp messages, e-mails, posts etc. relating to ensuing elections and thereby cluttering their communication system,” ICAI said.

“While sending different messages to the Voters, the candidates may kindly also appreciate the privacy of the members/voters and exercise due restraint as frequent unsolicited messages do disturb the members/voters,” the appeal read.
