ICAI Election Candidates banned from canvassing in any Form

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India ( ICAI ) has banned the election candidates from canvassing in any form/ mode for the next 24 hours.

“Candidates and their supporters may kindly note that Election Code of Conduct continues to be in force on the days of polling and the same will come to an end only upon declaration of results of elections. Further, the Election Code imposes a complete ban on canvassing in any form/ mode, 24 hours before the commencement of polling and during the polling days,” ICAI said in a statement.

the ICAI have organized videography and photography at all the polling centers. If any candidate or supporters are seen indulging in canvassing for votes, either physically at the booths or through electronic media, video and photographic evidence thereof will be sent to the Panel set up for enforcement of Election Code of Conduct.
