The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India ( ICAI ) has introduced Personalised email IDs for Chartered Accountants and CA students, which can be accessed through the official ICAI website, mail.ca.in.

To register, CAs need to enter their Membership Number (MRN), date of birth, and a Captcha.

Students can register using their Student Registration Number (SRN) and selecting the appropriate Regional Office (CRO, ERO, NRO, SRO, or WRO) based on their region of registration for CA exams. They also need to enter their date of birth and a Captcha, and the system will auto-populate the details from the ICAI database.

Users can then choose their preferred email ID with the domain @mail.ca.in. Previously, ICAI had enabled the domain @icai.org for use by CAs.

The ICAI had also implemented the Unique Document Identification Number (UDIN) system, introduced in 2019, to promote Digitalisation and enhance transparency. Under this system, CAs must generate a unique UDIN for every document they certify or attest, and affix it to the document along with their signature.

The UDIN system helps to verify the authenticity of financial documents and enables stakeholders to check the validity of the UDIN online. It also helps track documents certified/attested by a particular CA. All CAs in practice are required to generate UDINs for the documents they certify/attest. ICAI had also issued FAQs on UDIN to clarify and answer the common questions.

To further enhance digitalisation, the ICAI had developed mobile applications for members and students, such as the ICAI CA Student App and the ICAI Member App. These apps provide access to study materials, exam updates, and other relevant information, and enable members to access their profiles, update their details, and view their registration status.

The ICAI has also introduced several e-services that enable its members and students to access various services online, such as online registration for courses, e-learning modules, online submission of examination forms, online payment of fees, and online registration of firms.

Overall, the ICAI’s Digitalisation efforts have made its operations more efficient, streamlined, and accessible to its members and students.
