The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced an extension of the last date for submitting the Self Declaration Form for claiming Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Hours under Unstructured Learning Activities (ULA) for the Calendar Year 2024.
The decision was made in light of a significant number of members having completed their CPE hours but not having updated or uploaded the requisite declaration on the CPE Portal.

The last date for submission, which was initially set as 31st December in accordance with the “Statement on Continuing Professional Education, 2023,” was subsequently extended to 28th February 2025, which has now been further extended to 31st May 2025. Members are required to log in to the CPE Portal at https://cpeapp.icai.org/member/login using their six-digit membership number as the user ID and a default password in the specified format.
It has been specifically highlighted that no further extension will be granted to members for the submission of the Self Declaration Form for claiming CPE Hours under Unstructured Learning Activities for Calendar Year 2024 after 31st May 2025.

Members who fail to comply by 31st May 2025 will be subject to the consequential provisions for non-compliance with CPE hour requirements as set out in the Continuing Professional Education Statement, 2023. The provisions regarding non-compliance may be accessed here.
This extension is intended to provide members one final opportunity to ensure their compliance with CPE requirements for the year 2024.
It may be noted that the extension applies exclusively to the Calendar Year 2024. For Calendar Year 2025 onwards, the declaration for claiming Unstructured Learning Activities CPE Hours must be submitted no later than 31st December of each year, in line with the revised guidelines brought in by the Statement on Continuing Professional Education, 2023.
