The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India ( ICAI ) has issued a corrigendum to the list of voters for its upcoming 2024 elections. The announcement, made by CA (Dr.) Jai Kumar Batra, the Returning Officer and Secretary of the Election Cell, pertains to voters across various regional constituencies, including the Western, Southern, Eastern, Central, and Northern India regions.
The ICAI election, a crucial event for the accounting profession, will see members of the institute elect representatives to the Central Council and the Regional Councils.

With the corrigendum now issued, members are advised to review the updated voter lists to ensure their details are accurately reflected before casting their votes.
The affected constituencies are as follows:
1. Western India Regional Constituency
2. Southern India Regional Constituency
3. Eastern India Regional Constituency
4. Central India Regional Constituency
5. Northern India Regional Constituency

For Western India Regional Constituency, In Main Part of the List of Voters, i.e. Part containing particulars of voters and other details:
1. Under the City “MUMBAI”:
i. All entries with pin codes 400097 which was currently appearing at Polling Booth No. W135 have been shifted to Polling Booth No. W134 at same place and location at Mumbai.
ii. All entries with pin codes 400068 which was currently appearing at Polling Booth No. W134 have been shifted to Polling Booth No. W135 at same place and location at Mumbai.
iii. All entries in the Polling Booth No. W135 having address Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Commerce & Science, Asha Nagar, Thakur Complex, Off. W E Highway, 90 Feet Road, Kandivli East, Mumbai – 400101 have been shifted to Shailendra Education Society, Prin. D. G. Samant Hall, Gate 3 Shailendra Vidyalay Marg, Shailendra Nagar, Dahisar East, Mumbai – 400068.

2. Under the City “PUNE”:
i. All entries in the Polling Booth No. W172 having address Gokhale Institute of Politics & Economics, 846 Shivaji Nagar, B M C C Road, Pune – 411004 have been shifted to Ness Wadia College of Commerce, 19, Prin.V.K. Jaog Path, Bund Garden Rd, Pune – 411001 Hence the address of the Polling Booth No. W172 should read as Ness Wadia College of Commerce, 19, Prin.V.K. Jaog Path, Bund Garden Rd, Pune – 411001
ii. All entries appearing against pin code 411007, 411008 and 411021 & 411045 appearing against Polling Booth Nos. W171, W173 and W176 respectively have been shifted to Dnyansagar Institute of Management and Research, SKP Campus, Baner – Balewadi Rd, Laxman Nagar, Baner, Pune – 411045 at New Polling Booth No. W216.

Dr. Jai Kumar Batra, in his official capacity as the Returning Officer, urged all eligible members to verify the updated voter lists and report any discrepancies promptly.
The ICAI elections are scheduled for later this year, with voting to take place across various locations. The outcome of these elections will shape the leadership of the institute and its councils for the next term, influencing policy decisions, regulatory practices, and the future direction of the accounting profession in India.
For Voters for Southern India Regional Constituency, Key updates include the addition of new polling booths at locations in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, such as Badvel, Darsi, Krishnagiri, Naidupet, and Nandigama. For these cities, the voting method has been changed from “Voting by Post” to “Voting by Poll,” and the respective voters have been assigned to specific polling booths.

For Voters in the Eastern India Regional Constituency, the correction addresses clerical mistakes and necessary changes for voters in the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Odisha, Sikkim, Tripura, West Bengal, and the Union Territory of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
Key updates include shifts in polling booth locations within Kolkata, West Bengal:
Polling Booth Nos. E044 to E049 are relocated from ICAI Bhawan, Anandilal Poddar Sarani to the Income Tax Office, Aayakar Bhawan, Chowringhee Square, Kolkata.
Polling Booth Nos. E050 to E053 are shifted from the Income Tax Office, Chowringhee Square to ICAI Bhawan, Rajdanga, Kasaba, Kolkata.

Additionally, for Nazira, Assam, the voting method has changed from “Voting by Post” to “Voting by Poll,” with voters now attached to Polling Booth No. E075 in Sibsagar.
In the voter list for the states of Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh, key corrections include:
Bhiwadi (Rajasthan): The entry for a member in Serial No. 9188 has been deleted as the member belongs to the Northern Region.

Greater Noida (Uttar Pradesh): An additional entry for Sumit Kumar has been added as Serial No. 21059A, after Serial No. 21059. This member was previously listed under New Delhi in the Northern Region.
Jaipur (Rajasthan): A new entry for Palsaniya Kalpit has been added as Serial No. 37271A, after Serial No. 37271. The member was previously listed under Bengaluru in the Southern Region.
Moradabad (Uttar Pradesh): The entry for a member in Serial No. 56423 has been deleted as the member belongs to the Northern Region.
