The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has issued a corrigendum to rectify formatting and alignment errors in its earlier notification concerning the ICAI (Merger and Demerger of CA Firms) Guidelines, 2024. The corrections apply to Notification No. 1-CACAF/M&D-F/2025, originally published on January 24, 2025, in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary No. 66.
The corrigendum dated February 18, 2025, acknowledges errors in the English version of the notification and makes specific textual and alignment modifications to ensure clarity and consistency.

The corrigendum makes the following key modifications contained in the following pages of the Notification:

The fourth column, titled Seniority, had misaligned text which shall be rectified.

The text in Point III (Partnership Firms) under Column 1 against Point (a) contained typographical errors.
“Firm consisting of two partners- If one of the partners retires/dies and if the remaining partner continues either as sole proprietor or in partnership with others.”

In Point IV (Merger and Amalgamation of Two or More Firms), Column 2, Point 1 contained a spelling error.
“There is no change in the date of establishment. The old trade/firm name will be frozen in the Institute’s records based on the request received, and unfreeze of the name will also be done on a request basis.”
