ICAI removes name of 7 CAs from Register guilty of Professional Misconduct for Temporary Period

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India  (ICAI) has notified the removal of 7 Chartered Accountants (CAs) from the register for a temporary period. All the CAs are found to be guilty of professional misconduct.

In terms of the provisions of Section 21B(3) of the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 read with Rule 18(17) of the Chartered Accountants (Procedure of Investigations of Professional and Other Misconduct and Conduct of Cases) Rules, 2007, the Disciplinary Committee has held that the CAs should be removed from the register.

The list of Removed CAs:

1. CA. Abhay Balkrishna Upadhye (Membership No. 049354)

The Board removed the name from the register of members for a duration of 3 months and imposed a fine of Rs. 1,00,000.

2. CA. Neeraj Bansal (Membership No. 088870)

The board removed the name for a period of 15 (Fifteen) days.

3. CA. Deepak Aggarwal (Membership No. 092865)

The Board removed the name for a period of one (1) month. Additionally, a fine of Rs. 1,00,000/- (One Lakh Rupees) has been imposed.

4. CA. Bala Balaji M (Membership No. 215450)

The Board removed the name for a period of three (3) months and a fine of Rs. 1,00,000/- (One Lakh Rupees) has also been imposed.

5.  CA. Kumar G. (Membership No. 025885)

The Board removed the name from the register of members for a period of 30 days.

6. CA. Veerendra Vishwanath Patil (Membership No. 220542)

The Board removed the name from the register of members for a period of 15 days.

7. CA. Ranganathan K (Membership No. 010842)

The Board removed the name from the register of members for a period of 15 days.

The notification became effective on July 14, 2023, and the removal of the members took effect from the same date.
