The Institute of Chartered Accountant (ICAI) on Thursday renamed Kanchipuram District Branch as the Chengalpattu District Branch of Southern India Regional Council (SIRC).
The Council of ICAI at its 393rd Meeting held on 30th June and lst July, 2020 on consideration of recommendations of SIRC and Management Committee of the Council in the matter and decided that Kanchipuram District Branch of SIRC shall be renamed as Chengalpattu District Branch of SlRC with its headquarter at Tambaram.
It was further decided that Jurisdiction of the Branch will be Members having their addresses registered in the erstwhile Kanchipuram District in relation to Revenue Districts of Chengalpmu and Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu.
The Board has issued the notification under Regulation 159 (IA) of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988, to give effect to the above decision of the Branch of Southern India Regional Council (SIRC) in Kanchipuram District, Tamil Nadu.
“As prescribed under Regulation 159(3), Chengalpattu District Branch shall function subject to the control, supervision, and directions of the Council through SIRC and shall carry out such directions as may, from time to time, be issued by the Council,” the notification said.
