With an aim to improve the quality and scope of commerce and accountancy education, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India ( ICAI ) has formalised Memorandum of Understanding ( MoUs ) with 11 esteemed universities and colleges in India. The collaboration aims to provide extensive support to these academic institutions in various facets, including syllabi development, content creation, online and recorded lectures, and faculty development programs.

The MoUs were exchanged during a ceremony held on Monday at the ICAI-organised National Education Summit on Commerce and Accountancy, currently taking place in the capital. The event witnessed the participation of ICAI President Aniket Sunil Talati, who played a pivotal role in the exchange of agreements.

The 11 universities that have entered into strategic partnerships with ICAI are as follows:

  1. Central University of Haryana
  2. Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi
  3. Parul University, Vadodara, Gujarat
  4. Darshan University, Rajkot, Gujarat
  5. Shivaji University, Kolhapur, Maharashtra
  6. Jain University (deemed), Bengaluru, Karnataka
  7. SRM Group, Chennai, Tamil Nadu
  8. Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu
  9. Ramakrishna Mission, Vivekananda College, Chennai, Tamil Nadu
  10. Bharat Institute of Higher Education and Research, Chennai, Tamil Nadu
  11. Mizoram University, Aizawl, Mizoram

This collaboration marks a significant stride in fostering educational excellence and promoting collaboration between the professional body and academic institutions. Through joint efforts, the partners aim to enhance the overall quality of commerce and accountancy education by leveraging their collective expertise and resources.
