With the objective of promoting awareness and addressing queries related to the filing of Income Tax Returns, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has effectively conducted tax clinics in 168 branches across the country. The ICAI highlighted the importance of submitting tax returns well ahead of time to prevent any last-minute difficulties and urged taxpayers to disclose all taxable income
Tax Clinics was a step taken by ICAI towards make financially aware, tax compliant & empowered by creating awareness about tax compliances with respect to filing of return of income amongst the taxpayers & common man.
To assist taxpayers who are obligated to file their Income Tax returns by July 31, 2023, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) arranged a series of Tax Clinics across its network of 168 branches and 5 Regional Councils. These clinics were specifically designed to address and resolve any queries raised by the taxpayers.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) garnered an enthusiastic response from taxpayers, with over 100 centres witnessing significant participation. These clinics were inaugurated and addressed by esteemed individuals, and the initiative was widely praised by the general taxpayers.
At ICAI Bhawans located throughout India, the Tax Experts were available all day to address queries and offer guidance on filing income tax returns. The Tax Clinics served the purpose of not only helping taxpayers comprehend the complexities of tax laws but also promoting awareness among the general public about the significance of filing income tax returns.
This initiative effectively promoted financial literacy and a sense of fiscal responsibility among taxpayers. Many dedicated chartered accountants generously volunteered their time and expertise, contributing to the remarkable success of this endeavour.
