The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has opened online admissions for its latest Post Membership Qualification (PMQ) Course on Internal Audit. The course, intended exclusively for ICSI members, is designed to equip CS professionals with deep expertise in internal audit and corporate governance.

The extensive course shall begin with an introduction and overview of internal controls, frameworks for internal audit reports, and the evolution of internal audit. Candidates will learn about the tools and techniques of internal audit, its application to specific functions, as well as the planning and execution of internal audit programs.
Further modules cover topics such as internal audit organizational structures, foundation and standards of internal auditing, as well as fraud-related concepts and emerging issues within the industry. Participants will also explore the relationship between Company Secretaries and internal audit, examining roles, duties, and contemporary challenges.
The PMQ Course is structured into four stages: the first stage provides online web-based classes with access to recorded lectures, followed by an online MCQ-based assessment through the LMS portal. The third stage involves project report submission, while the conclusive stage involves a presentation by the candidates.
Candidates must secure a minimum of 50% in the 100-mark online examination, with a negative marking of one-fourth for each incorrect answer. A minimum of 50% is also required in the project report and presentation.

The fee structure involves two instalments. The first instalment consists of ₹12,500 (plus 18% GST) to be paid at the time of registration and the second instalment ₹12,500 (plus 18% GST) to be paid before 30th September, 2025. A separate course examination fee of ₹1,500 plus 18% GST is also applicable.
Candidates may note that the registration for the PMQ course remains valid for three years from the date of registration, providing ample time for completion.

Upon qualifying all stages, successful candidates will be awarded a Diploma Certificate by ICSI and permitted to use the descriptive letters ICSI (DIA). In addition, all successful candidates will be granted 20 Structured CPE Credits in the year of completion, adding great value to their professional credentials.
