ICSI Announces UDIN Amnesty Scheme 2025: Generate, Modify, Revoke ID No. Free of Cost!

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India ( ICSI ) has rolled out the UDIN Amnesty Scheme 2025, offering members a one-time opportunity to rectify, revoke, or generate their Unique Document Identification Numbers ( UDINs ) without incurring any fees.

The UDIN Amnesty Scheme has been launched to help members overcome compliance challenges in terms of the UDIN Guidelines issued by the Institute. Under the amnesty initiative, members will be allowed to generate UDINs for documents signed between April 19, 2024 and April 15, 2025 that were missed earlier.

Additionally, members shall be able to modify existing UDIN details and revoke UDINs that were generated but remained unused.

As a major relief to members, those availing the UDIN Amnesty Scheme shall have complete immunity from disciplinary proceedings under the UDIN Guidelines in respect of the documents covered under this scheme.

Members shall be able to conduct all of the processes online through the official UDIN portal.

The amnesty process is fully digital, and members have been directed to complete their tasks via the UDIN platform at https://stimulate.icsi.edu/udin within the prescribed time window. The Institute has clearly stated that no fee shall be charged for any of the actions under the scope of this scheme, making it both accessible and beneficial to intending members.

The scheme is deemed to be a proactive measure adopted by the ICSI to foster transparency, promote accountability, and ease the procedural challenges faced by practicing company secretaries.

Deadline

This limited-period UDIN Amnesty Scheme 2025 shall be effective from April 1, 2025 to April 15, 2025.

The official communication regarding the UDIN Amnesty Scheme 2025 was provided to the public through a release on the official website of the ICSI and has beenn undersigned by CS Manish Gupta, President, and CS Banu Dandona, Secretary of ICSI.
