The Institute of Company Secretaries of India ( ICSI ) has introduced an innovative referral program named the "CS Mitr Scheme," aimed at promoting its Company Secretary ( CS ) Executive Programme. The scheme offers an opportunity for individuals to earn rewards by referring students to enrol in the programme.

Eligibility Criteria for Becoming a CS Mitr

The CS Mitr Scheme is open to a wide range of participants who meet the following eligibility criteria:

1. Age Requirement: Any individual above 18 years of age can become a CS Mitr.

2. Eligible Participants: CS Members, current CS students, teachers at schools and colleges, students from other universities, retired ICSI employees, housewives, and young adults are all eligible.

3. Exclusions: Employees of ICSI (both regular and contractual), Council Members, Regional Council Members, Managing Committee Members of Chapters, Consultants, and Auditors are not eligible to participate in this scheme.

Incentive Structure

Participants in the CS Mitr Scheme will receive a monetary incentive for each successful referral:

- Incentive Amount: Rs. 500 per student enrolled in the Executive Programme.

- Conditions: The incentive is subject to applicable tax deductions and is only valid for registrations in categories where fee concessions are not applicable.

Application and Payment Process

To become a CS Mitr, interested individuals must apply through an online process. Once their credentials are verified and they are registered with ICSI as a CS Mitr, they will be assigned a unique referral code. New students must enter this code when registering for the Executive Programme.

- Payment Method: Incentive payments will be transferred directly to the registered bank accounts of CS Mitrs via NEFT, managed by the Directorate of Finance and Accounts.

- Verification: CS Mitrs are required to provide their PAN details for taxation and statutory compliance purposes.

ICSI reserves the right to reject any applicant or withhold monetary benefits if any misconduct or use of unfair practices is detected. The decision of the Institute in such matters will be final. Additionally, all CS Mitrs must agree to maintain the confidentiality of any proprietary information accessed during their association with ICSI.

The CS Mitr Scheme represents a new way for ICSI to expand its reach and ensure more students can access the CS Executive Programme, while also rewarding individuals who help in this effort.
