Importer Can Apply For Registration After 60th Day & Within 5 Days Before Arrival Consignment: DGFT  Revises Policy [Read Circular]

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has revised its import policy as per which, the importer can apply for the registration after 60th day and within five days before the arrival of the consignment.

As per the existing policy condition, the importer can apply for registration not earlier than 60th day and not later 15th day before the expected date of of arrival of import consignment. The Automatic Registration Number shall remain valid for a period of 75 days. lmporter shall have to enter the Registration Number and expiry date of Registration Number and expiry date of Registration in the Bill of Entry to enable Customs for clearance of consignment.

The revised policy condition states that the importer can apply for registration earlier than 60th day and not later than not than 5 days before the expected date arrival of import consignment. The Automatic Registration Number shall remain valid for a period of 75 days. Importer shall have to enter the Registration in the Bill of Entry to enable Customs for clearance of the consignment.
