Income Tax Portal - Form 3CEB Offline Utility - Form 3CF

The Income Tax Portal has allowed the filing of Form 3CEB offline utility and online filing of Form 3CF  is now available for filing on the portal.

“Form 3CF is available for electronic filing on the portal. Reference may be made to CBDT Circular No.5/2022 dated 16th March 2022 for the last date for physical filing of Form No. 3CF,” the Board said.

All taxpayers are mandatorily required to file an accountant’s report prepared by an independent professional through Form No. 3CEB for all international transactions irrespective of the value of international transactions and specified domestic transactions if the value exceeds INR 20 crore in a financial year.

Form 3CF is an application form for approval under clause (ii) or clause (iii) of sub-section (1) of section 35 of the Income-tax Act, 1961 in the case of a research association.

Earlier in March, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) relaxed the form requirements for electronic filing of the application in form no. 3CF. Form 3CF is an application form for approval under clause (ii) or clause (iii) of sub-section (1) of section 35 of the Income-tax Act, 1961 in the case of a research association.

The circular issued by the Board provided relaxation from the requirement of electronic filing of the application in Form No. 3CF for seeking approval under section 35(1)(ii)/(iia)/(iii) of the Income Tax Act, 1961.

The circular relaxed the norms by allowing the applicants seeking approval under section 35(1)(ii)/(iia)/(iii) of the Act may file the application in Form No. 3CF physically during the period from the date of issuance of this Circular till: (a) September 30, 2022; or (b) the date of availability of Form No. 3CF for electronic filing on the e-filing website, whichever is earlier.
