Flooded with the inquiries from taxpayers and professionals facing difficulties with income tax filing, the income tax department has responded via twitter that the income tax portal is working fine and advised the stakeholders to contact helpline to address the issues.

“The e-filing portal is working fine. May we request you to write to us at orm@cpc.incometax.gov.in detailing the specific issue you’ve encountered (along with PAN, your mobile no. & a screenshot of the error). Our team will get in touch with you,” the income tax department responded.

As the deadline for filing of income tax return filing is coming closer, professionals are taking extra precautions to file the returns at the earliest.

Through a number of easily accessible sources, they reported the problems they were having with the income tax website to the income tax department. It is anticipated that these issues will be resolved before the filing deadline for income tax returns, which is July 31st, 2023.

As per the statistics reflected on the income tax e-portal, out of 11,14,48,568, around 66,86,745 persons have submitted their ITRs till 21st July 2023.
