The PAN-Aadhaar demographic mismatching fix has been mentioned by the Income Tax Department. The taxpayers are already aware that there is a Rs. 1000 fine if the PAN and Aadhaar are not linked by June 30, 2023. Additionally, the taxpayer’s PAN card will expire after the due date, making it impossible for you to submit a claim for a deduction or a refund.
According to the most recent update, the department cautioned that gender, name, and date of birth mismatches could lead to demographic mismatches when PAN and Aadhaar are linked. However, a biometric-based authentication has been offered in order to further promote the seamless connection of PAN and Aadhaar.
The authentication facility can be availed of at a dedicated centres of PAN service providers i.e., Protean and UTIITSL.

If the linking request still fails: You can avail the option of biometric based authentication by paying a nominal charge of INR 50/- at dedicated centers of PAN service providers.
How to link Aadhaar and PAN?
Both registered and unregistered users can link their Aadhaar and PAN on the e-Filing portal (www.incometax.gov.in), in both pre log in and post login mode.
Please be aware that in order to use the service in protean and UTIITSL centres, you must have your PAN, Aadhaar, and fee challan on hand.
