Income Tax Update: CBDT releases Latest Common offline utility for Form 3CA-3CD and 3CB-3CD

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has released the latest common offline utility for Form 3CA-3CD and 3CB-3CD on 15th September 2023. The department released the latest schema on 12th July 2023.

Form 3CA-3CD: Audit report under section 44AB of the Income -tax Act, 1961, in a case where the accounts of the business or profession of a person have been audited under any other law and Statement of Particulars required to be furnished under Section 44AB of the Income-tax Act, 1961

Form 3CB-3CD: Audit report under section 44AB of the Income -tax Act 1961, in the case of a person referred to in clause (b) of sub - rule (1) of rule 6G and Statement of Particulars required to be furnished under Section 44AB of the Income-tax Act, 1961.

Section 44AB outlines the regulations pertaining to a group of taxpayers obligated to undergo an audit conducted by a chartered accountant. The purpose of the audit, as per Section 44AB, is to assess whether the taxpayer is in conformity with the diverse provisions of the Income-tax Law and has met all other criteria stipulated by the Income-tax Law. The audit carried out by a chartered accountant on the taxpayer’s accounts, in compliance with Section 44AB, is commonly referred to as a “tax audit.”

Steps to Download Offline Utility

1. Visit Income Tax website –https://www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal/  
2. Navigate to ‘Downloads’
3. Click on ‘Income Tax Forms’ Click on ‘Form Utility’ under Common offline utility for Form 3CA-3CD and 3CB-3CD
