Two IRS officers, Pranesh Pathak and Ram Nivas were promoted to top positions in the Customs & Indirect Taxes.
Pranesh Pathak, an officer from the 1992 batch, currently serving in the Customs Ahmedabad Zone, has been empanelled and elevated to the grade of Chief Commissioner/Director General of Customs & Indirect Taxes. This promotion places him at Level 16 of the Pay Matrix, recognizing his contributions and expertise in the field, reported IndianBureaucracy.com.

Similarly, Ram Nivas, a 1990 batch officer who is presently the Chief Commissioner of Customs in the Chennai Zone, has been promoted to the esteemed post of Principal Chief Commissioner/Principal Director General of Customs & Indirect Taxes. His scale has been raised to level 17.
This shows that there is a reshuffle in the revenue service by the Central Government. Thus, it is expected that these appointments will help the taxpayers utmost.
Recently, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet ( ACC ) approved the appointment of the two Senior IRS officers, Mohan Kumar Singh and Yogendra Garg in CBIC for the posts of Member.
