Nationally, GST collections have shown a positive trend. In February 2025, gross GST collections rose by 9.1% to approximately Rs.1.84 lakh crore, driven by domestic consumption and indicating potential economic revival.

Telangana’s economic slowdown comes as a major shock, considering the state was once one of the fastest-growing economies in the country. Experts attribute the decline to weak financial planning, stalled industrial activity, and poor policy decisions.
