Key Changes in the Act

1. Stamp Duty on Extra Documents Increased

The fee on supplementary documents (extra documents added to a main agreement) has gone up from Rs. 100 to Rs. 500. This increase was made because the old amount was too low for today's economy. The higher fee will also help the state collect more money.

  • People can now pay stamp duty online using systems like GRAS (Government Receipt Accounting System) or through franking machines and approved bank accounts.
  • Once payment is made, the system will issue an e-stamp certificate or digital proof.
  • This change saves time, reduces paperwork, and makes the process easier and faster for everyone.
