The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has issued an important announcement regarding the extension of the last date for online empanelment of members to act as observers for the upcoming Chartered Accountants Examinations in May/June 2024.
In a recent decision, the ICAI has extended the last date for online empanelment of members to act as observers for the Chartered Accountants Examinations, May/June 2024, up to 15th March 2024.
Eligible members who were unable to empanel themselves earlier can now avail the extended opportunity to act as observers. It is important to note that eligible members are required to empanel afresh in every examination cycle.
Online Application Process: Interested members can submit their applications through the Observer Portal at http://observers.icaiexam.icai.org. The deadline for submitting online applications for observer roles is extended to 15th March 2024.
Cooling Off Period: The Examination Committee, in its 648th Meeting on 8th and 9th January 2024, has decided to implement a cooling-off period for one attempt after three consecutive attempts for observership duties. This decision will be applicable from the May 2024 examination cycle onwards, with retrospective details.

It was added that, the Examination Committee in its 648th Meeting held on 8th and 9th January 2024 among others has decided that there should be a cooling off period for one attempt after three (3) consecutive attempts for Observership Duties. The same be applicable w.e.f. May 2024 with retrospective details.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India encourages eligible members to take advantage of this extended deadline and actively participate in the examination process.
