Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in category management, business development, and product management, with a focus on digital payments, telecom services, or bill payments
- Proven track record in driving revenue growth and delivering business results in highly competitive markets.
- Experience in managing cross-functional teams and working with external partners.
- MBA from tier 1 college preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in data-driven decision-making and use of analytics tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Google Sheets, etc)
- Excellent negotiation and partner management skills
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Responsibilities:
- Category Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive growth strategy for the Recharge & BillPay categories
- Identify emerging trends, competitor offerings, and new market opportunities to drive the evolution of the categories
- Analyze customer needs and segment behaviors to create targeted product offerings and promotions
- Drive category performance metrics including customer engagement, transaction volume, revenue growth, and profitability
- Develop customer engagement strategies to maximize the lifetime value of users within the Recharge & BillPay categories.
- Track campaign effectiveness and optimize marketing efforts based on performance data.
- Product Development/Project Management:
- Collaborate with product teams to innovate, optimize, and expand the Recharge & BillPay offerings
- Ensure that the offerings are aligned with customer demands and provide a seamless user experience
- Work closely with tech and product teams to ensure timely product releases, updates, and feature enhancements.
- Partnerships & Biller Management:
- Establish and manage strategic relationships with key vendors, telecom operators, bill payment partners, and third-party service providers.
- Negotiate campaigns and new offerings with external partners to maximize value for both PhonePe and customers.
- Ensure operational efficiency and manage biller performance to meet business goals.
- Data & Insights:
- Leverage data analytics to derive actionable insights on category performance, customer behavior, and market dynamics
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for category growth and user retention
- Implement and monitor A/B testing and other optimization strategies to continuously improve product performance
- Financial Management:
- Create and manage the category’s P&L, ensuring revenue targets are met
- Prepare periodic reports (monthly & annual plans) on category performance and forecast future growth
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with sales, tech, marketing, operations, and customer support , legal, finance and treasury teams to ensure cohesive strategy and execution
- Act as a subject matter expert on Recharge & BillPay trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape
