MCA appoints Justice Suresh Kumar Gupta as Chairperson to Appellate Authority for CAs, CSs, and Cost Accountants [Read Notification]

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs ( MCA ) has notified the appointment of Chairperson and Members to Appellate Authority for CAs, CSs, and Cost Accountants. Justice Suresh Kumar Gupta, Judge (Retd) of Allahabad High Court have been appointed as the Chairperson.
Mr. Rakesh Mohan (2nd Serial number) and Mr. Sandip Garg (3rd Serial number) have been appointed as members of the appellate authority. Additionally, Mr. Amit Anand Apte (6th Serial number) was also appointed as a Member under section 22A of the Cost and Works Accountants Act, 1959.
The Appellate Authority has been constituted by the Central Government vide its notification in the official Gazette dated March 20, 2009, in terms of Section 22A(1) of the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949, Section 22A of the Cost and Works Accountants Act, 1959 and Section 22A of the Company Secretaries Act, 1980.
In instances where a member of the professional Institutes feels aggrieved by a ruling from the Board of Discipline or the Disciplinary Committee, imposing sanctions upon them, they retain the right to appeal against the decision to the Appellate Authority. Additionally, the Director (Discipline) is empowered to appeal against the verdict of the Board of Discipline or the Disciplinary Committee to the Appellate Authority.
