The Minister of Corporate Affairs ( MCA ) has constituted a Committee on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
In an office order dated on 04.04.2018 said that the Committee will be headed by Shri. Manmohan Juneja, RD (WR) and has 10 other members with one convener.
The Committee will review the functioning of CSR enforcement and will recommend a uniform approach for its enforcement.
As per the Office Order issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, the Committee would have to submit their recommendations within 60 days to the Ministry. Two Sub Committees are also formed to aid and assist the Steering Committee.
The guidelines issued will empower the Committee to invite any person of appropriate stature having expertise with the Companies Act. The order also contains Terms of Reference (TOR) for both the Steering Committee as well as the Sub Committee.
