The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has recently made a significant announcement regarding the establishment of a new Central Processing Centre (CPC) at the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA).
This centre is designed to have territorial jurisdiction across India, specifically in alignment with the provisions of Section 396 (1) and (2) of the Companies Act, 2014. Its primary function is the processing and timely disposal of e-forms, with operations set to commence from February 6, 2024.
According to the official notification, S.O. 446(E), dated February 2, 2024, the CPC, will handle the processing and disposal of e-forms, along with the associated fees, as outlined in the Companies (Registration of Offices and Fees) Rules, 2014.
Further stated that “The jurisdictional Registrar, other than Registrar of the Central Processing Centre, within whose jurisdiction the registered office of the company is situated shall continue to have jurisdiction over the companies whose e-forms are processed by the Registrar of the Central Processing Centre in respect of all other provisions of the Companies Act, 2013 and the rules made thereunder.”
