MCA notifies Members of Tribunal for Settlement of dispute on ICAI Elections [Read Notification]

The Ministry of corporate affairs (MCA) notified the members of the Tribunal for the Settlement of dispute on the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) election.

The MCA empowered under sub-section (1) of section 10B of the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 and in pursuance of rule 3 of the Chartered Accountants (Election Tribunal) Rules, 2006, amended notification dated the 12th April 2019.

The R.S. Verma, Additional Secretary, Department of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Law and Justice, Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi will be the presiding officer and the members will be Manmohan Juneja, Officer on Special Duty, Ministry of Corporate Affairs (Hqrs.), Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi Sh. Sanjay Shorey, Director (Legal & Prosecution), Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi.

​​This notification shall come into force from 17th September 2021.

As per sub-section (1) of section 10B of the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 On receipt of any application under Section 10A, the Central Government shall, by notification, establish a Tribunal consisting of a Presiding Officer and two other Members to decide such dispute and the decision of such Tribunal shall be final.
