Taxpayers are increasingly frustrated as Infosys GSTN, the company responsible for managing India’s Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN), faces criticism for problems with its new GST SPL-02 form. This form, introduced as part of the GST Amnesty Scheme, was meant to simplify the filing process for taxpayers.

A major issue has been reported: the drop-down menu in the form does not display the required options for selecting orders. So, many taxpayers are unable to complete their filings, causing widespread inconvenience and delays.

User Shiva Roopa Ganesh (@ShivaSRG) posted the issue on X (formerly Twitter), stating:

"The @Infosys_GSTN has once again come up with a half-baked GST SPL-02 form for GST Amnesty. The orders are not available in the drop-down box. G-202501011097955. New Year New Glitches!!"

Another X-user replied, saying they also faced the same problem with the missing drop-down options in the GST SPL-02 form, showing that this issue is affecting many people.

In response, GST Tech (@Infosys-GSTN) replied:

"Thank you for sharing your ticket number with us. Our team is looking into it."

Why the Drop-Down Menu Matters

When filing under the GST Amnesty Scheme, taxpayers often need to refer to specific orders issued by tax authorities. These orders may include:

  1. Demand Orders: Issued for outstanding tax liabilities.
  2. Penalty or Interest Orders: For non-compliance or late filing.
  3. Assessment Orders: Determining tax liabilities for specific periods.

The drop-down menu in the GST SPL-02 form is designed to let taxpayers select the specific orders they are addressing while applying for amnesty. If the required orders are missing from the menu:

  • Taxpayers cannot link their application to the correct tax liability or penalty this will lead to a delay in filing until the drop-down feature is fixed.

We remain hopeful that the technical team will address and resolve this issue quickly, ensuring taxpayers can take advantage of the scheme.
