The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has issued a call to all its stakeholders, inviting comments and suggestions on its Strategic Action Plan (2026-2030).

The latest Action Plan is a five-year blueprint that is aimed at transforming the Institute and its members’ competence in delivering effective services, strengthening governance, and to prepare upcoming and existing company secretaries for rapid changes in the professional landscape.

The attached draft exposure opens up with a message from ICSI President CS Dhanajay Shukla and Vice President CS Pawan G. Chandak. The office-bearers have stated that the Institute had constituted a dedicated “Strategic Group – ICSI Ascend” to review its existing activities and to recommend futuristic measures for institutional growth.

The proposals from the Strategic Group form the very core of the new Strategic Action Plan, which aligns ICSI’s initiatives with evolving national and international standards in governance, technology and professional education in the sector.

The Strategic Action Plan is structured into three parts:

Part A - Introduction and Executive Summary: This section essentially outlines ICSI’s vision for the future amidst the rapidly transforming economic and governance ecosystem. It also draws attention to India’s ambition of Viksit Bharat 2047 and highlights the role of the Institute in nurturing governance professionals capable of driving innovation and sustainability.

Part B - Proposals- Strategic Action Plan (2026-30): This section details proposals under eleven key areas including - improving organizational efficiency, ethics and governance practices, course structure and training framework of the CS profession, strengthening of regional and chapter offices and expanding ICSI’s global footprint amidst others.

Part C - Implementation of Strategic Action Plan: This section categorizes proposals that require approval of the Council and proposals that require amendments as per statutory legislation.

ICSI has encouraged members, students, regulators, corporates and industry leaders to actively review the draft and contribute their suggestions to craft a forward-looking Strategic Action Plan that can shape the Institute’s trajectory for the next few years.

Stakeholders can access the exposure draft and submit their inputs online through this link.
