The Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) today issued a Notification mandating Aadhaar based Electronic Verification Code for the purpose of CGST.
The Notification allows EVC through the common portals for GST documents.
Amended its earlier Notification allowing the modes of verification for the purpose of Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Rules.
As per the notification, the Rules are applicable from 22nd June, 2017.
As per the Notification, Aadhar based Electronic Verification Code (EVC) or Bank account based One Time Password was essential for verification purpose under the CGST Rules.
The present Notification incorporates two major amendments to the earlier notification. It provides for Electronic verification code generated through net banking login on the common portal instead of Bank account based One Time Password and Electronic verification code generated on the common portal.
