The Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) made it clear that singer Yo Yo Honey Singh’s upcoming concert in the city will only be approved once the mandatory entertainment tax is paid. Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava has issued a directive stating that event organizers must clear all dues before proceeding with the concert, scheduled for March 8, 2025.
The move comes under the Madhya Pradesh Municipality Tax Rules 2018, which require a 10% entertainment tax on total ticket sales to be deposited into the municipal corporation’s account. In a formal letter to the District Magistrate and Police Commissioner, Mayor Bhargava stressed the importance of compliance with these regulations before granting event permissions.
The decision follows concerns raised by Mayor-in-Council member and revenue department in-charge Niranjan Singh Chauhan. He pointed out that the municipal corporation has suffered revenue losses due to unpaid entertainment taxes from past commercial events.

Chauhan revealed that tax payments from a musical concert by singer Diljit Dosanjh remain pending, raising questions about the enforcement of financial obligations by event organizers. He warned that if similar negligence occurred with Honey Singh’s concert, he would bring a censure motion in the Mayor Council and escalate the matter to the Lokayukta police.
Honey Singh’s concert is part of his Millionaire India Tour 2025, which spans 10 cities across the country. The Indore leg of the tour is set to take place at C21 Estate, Indore, on March 8 at 6:00 PM. Ticket sales, which are exclusively available on Zomato’s District app.
The IMC’s directive ensures that all necessary tax payments are settled before the event proceeds. Authorities have highlighted that no exceptions will be made, reinforcing the city's commitment to enforcing tax compliance on large-scale entertainment events.
