Around 3,297 offers from various companies has been made during the 49th campus placement programme conducted for yound chartered accountants, said CA. Prafulla P. Chhajed, President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).
“49th campus placement programme for the newly qualified Chartered Accountants was organized during February-March 2019 at 17 centres across the nation, wherein more than 9000 registered for the programme. As on 22nd March 2019, a total of 141 organisation and 269 interview teams participated in the placement and they are expected to hire about 5,000 candidates across the nation. A total of 3,297 offers have already been made. I am happy to note that this placement programme has attracted the highest ever participation from recruiters offering highest number of positions since the inception of the Institute,” the ICAI Chief said.
Last year, the ICAI had conducted campus placement programme for August-September 2018 wherein the highest salary offered for candidates were were 22.62 lakh and 35 lakh for domestic and international posting respectively. In the programme, 111 companies, with 204 interview teams, participated and offered 1593 jobs to members.
As the career opportunities of the Chartered Accountants has increased recently, the ICAI is taking all the possible efforts to pass the said benefits to its members. As a part of it, a new web portal was exclusively created for job updates for Chartered Accountants.
In July last year, the Institute had launched a Placement Assistance Programme exclusively for CA students across the country. Candidates who have completed IPCC / Intermediate Level (Both Groups) with at least 10 months of the article-ship period remaining (as on 01-Aug-2018) can be a part of the programme.
