A shocking discovery has shaken Pramod Kumar Dandotiya, a 25-year-old college student from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. He uncovered transactions worth a whopping Rs 46 crore from his bank account, sparking confusion. This came to light when he received a notice from the Income Tax and GST departments, revealing a misuse of his PAN card.

According to reports by ANI, investigations found that someone had registered a company using Dandotiya’s PAN card. This company allegedly operated in Mumbai and Delhi since 2021. Dandotiya expressed surprise, saying, “I am a college student in Gwalior. After the notice from Income Tax and GST, I found out that a company used my PAN card for operations in Mumbai and Delhi. I don’t know how this happened.”

Despite initial difficulties in filing a complaint, Dandotiya persisted until he successfully lodged a complaint with the Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP). The ASP confirmed receiving Dandotiya’s application, noting transactions exceeding Rs 46 crore from his bank account. The ASP assured ongoing verification of the documents, acknowledging the misuse of Dandotiya’s PAN card and the significant financial transactions.

This incident highlights the need to be vigilant against PAN card fraud. Individuals are advised to:

1. Regularly check credit scores on authorized websites.

2. Monitor bank transactions and report suspicious activity promptly.

3. Be cautious when sharing personal information online.

4. Use resources like Form 26AS to track PAN card transactions and detect potential fraud.
