The Directorate General of Foreign Trade ( DGFT ) has issued Notification No. 66/2023 dated March 06, 2024, amending the import policy for Duck Meat. According to the notification, Premium Duck Meat intended for hotels and restaurants is now categorised as 'Restricted.'
This decision aligns with directives outlined in DAHD OM No. L-110109(3)/1/2016-Trade ( E-2625 ) dated February 22, 2024, and Department of Revenue Notification No. 13/2024-Customs dated March 06, 2024. “However, other imports under ITC( HS ) codes 02074200 and 02074500 shall continue to be 'Free.'”
Under the revised policy, imports of other duck meat falling under codes 02074200 and 02074500 remain 'Free.' These amendments are in accordance with the provisions of the Foreign Trade ( Development & Regulation ) Act, 1992, and the Foreign Trade Policy of 2023, targeting frozen duck meat in various forms.

Effect of the Notification: The import of Premium Duck Meat, as per DAHD OM No. L-110109(3)/1/2016-Trade ( E-2625 ) dated February 22, 2024, and Department of Revenue Notification No. 13/2024-Customs dated March 06, 2024, intended for supply to Hotels and Restaurants, shall now be 'Restricted.' However, other imports under ITC ( HS ) codes 02074200 and 02074500 shall continue to be 'Free.'
