Based on an order of the disciplinary committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), the Institute has removed twelve Chartered Accountants from the Register of Members.
This is in terms of the provisions of Section 21B(3) of the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 read with Rules 18(17) and 19(1) of the Chartered Accountants (Procedure of Investigations of Professional and Other Misconduct and Conduct of Cases) Rules, 2007.
The Chartered Accountants removed as per different notifications would include, CA. Valady Vaidhyanathan Ramanathan, CA. K Sridhar Reddy, CA. Chandan Singh Chauhan, CA. Balasubramaniyan S, CA. C V Kittur, CA. Thiruveedhi Parthasaradhi, CA. Peter Jaya Rao, CA. Deepak Dinesh Agrawal, CA. A Amaranath, CA. Sunil Daulatram Jaithwar, f CA. Navinchandra Virji Gada and CA. Ganapathy Sivaprakash.
One of the notifications issued on Friday stated that “the Disciplinary Committee has held CA. Navinchandra Virji Gada (Membership No. 123936), Flat No. 201 2nd Floor, Ratna Tarang Cooperative Society, A wing, Old Nagardas Road, Above Amardeep Nursing Home, Andheri(East), MUMBAI 400069, guilty of Professional Misconduct falling within the meaning of Clauses (5),(7) and (9) of Part I of Second Schedule to the aforesaid Act and consequently ordered for removal of name of CA. Navinchandra Virji Gada (Membership No. 123936) from the Register of Members for a period of 02(Two) years and also imposed a fine of Rs. 50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand Only) to be paid within 30 days which is also upheld by the Appellate Authority vide its order pronounced on 5th October, 2022.”
“In pursuance of the aforesaid Order of the Disciplinary Committee and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of Section 20 of the aforesaid Act, read with Regulation 18 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations 1988, it is hereby notified that the name of CA. Navinchandra Virji Gada (Membership No. 123936) shall stand removed from the Register of Members for a period of 02(Two) years with effect from 11th November, 2022,” the Notification said.
