Due to the ongoing processing of PT-3 applications received by homeowners seeking a 40% reduction on residential properties, the Pune Property Tax Bills for the fiscal year 2025–2026 have been postponed until May 1.

According to state government laws, homeowners who own their own homes are eligible for a 40% property discount. In order to receive this advantage, owners had to fill out PT-3 forms.

According to the authority, the administration wants to make sure that conscientious taxpayers who get their bills late don't lose out on the discount. The relief will be available to everyone who pays their taxes before the end of June.

PMC typically starts billing on April 1st. The department's staffing shortage is the reason for the delay. The deadline for paying property taxes at the reduced rates has been extended by PMC until June 30. Additionally, PMC has provided a 5%–10% reduction to individuals who pay their taxes before May 31st each year.

Pratibha Pail, Deputy Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation's Property Tax Department, stated that the delay is due to the pending scrutiny of these applications. Since the PT-3 applications are yet to be processed, it is impossible to distribute the bills from April 1 as planned.

Further said that if bills are sent without the records being updated, mistakes may occur and homeowners may need to attend the municipal office to have them corrected. The government is making sure that all applications are examined before tax invoices are generated in order to avoid this difficulty.
