Refund of IGST with applicable statutory interest: Kerala HC directs to pass appropriate orders [Read Order]

The Kerala High Court directed to pass appropriate orders in the matter concerning the refund of integrated goods and service tax ( IGST ) with applicable statutory interest.

The present writ petition has been filed to issue a Writ of Mandamus or any other appropriate Writ, order or direction directing the respondents to refund the IGST for the period from April,2022 to April,2023 along with applicable statutory interest @ 6% p.a.

Sreelal N.Warrier, Standing Counsel submitted that, the Court may dispose of the writ petition, directing the 9^th respondent to consider and pass appropriate orders, in accordance with law on the representation on the basis of petitioners email communications read with statement of petitioner regarding invoice details.

A Single Bench of Justice Dinesh Kumar Singh observed that “Considering the said stand of the respondent authorities, the present writ petition is disposed of, with direction to the 9^th respondent/proper officer to consider and pass appropriate orders on representation of the petitioner, expeditiously, preferably within a period of four weeks from today. Let copy of this judgment be communicated  by the counsel representing the respondents to proper officer.”
