In the case of the Canara Bank , the Supreme Court of India dismissed the Special Leave Petition(SLP) in absence of satisfactory explanation for delay. The SLP arose out of impugned final judgment and order passed by the High Court of Karnataka.
The petitioner, the Commissioner Of Income Tax Ltu&Anr 261 days in filing the special leave petition.The explanation offered for the condonation of delay is not satisfactory.
In the absence of satisfactory explanation, the two judge bench comprising Justice B V Nagarathna and Justice Ujjal Bhuyan dismissed the application seeking condonation of delay in filing the petition. Consequently, the special leave petition is dismissed on the grounds of delay.
