SEBI notifies Form A for Application for grant of Certificate of Registration as ESG Rating Provider [Read Notification]

Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has notified the Form A for application for the grant of Certificate of Registration as ESG Rating Provider and Form B for Certificate of Registration as an ESG rating provider under 5th Schedule as per the regulation 28D and 28G of newly amended SEBI (Credit Rating Agencies) Regulations respectively.

The applicant shall state the Name, the name of the compliance officer, mobile number and Email ID.

The form shall include:

1. Particulars of the applicant : Name, address of the registered office, address for correspondence, mobile number(s), email address of the Applicant, address of branch offices, if any..etc.
2. Eligibility criteria
3. Particulars of Directors/ key personnels
4. Infrastructure details
5. Details of Major shareholders
6. Associate concerns
7. Business information of the company
8. Financial information about the applicant
9. Other information
10. Declaration

Instructions For Filing Form A

1. Applicants must submit, to the Board, a completed application form together with appropriate supporting documents.
2. This application form should be filled in accordance with the regulations.
3. Application for registration will be considered, only if it is complete in all respects.
4. All answers must be typed.
5. Information which needs to be supplied in detail may be given on separate sheets which should be attached with the application form.
6. All signatures on the application must be original.
7. Every page of the form as well as every additional sheet must be signed by the authorized signatory of the applicant.
8. Application must be accompanied by an application fee as specified in Sixth Schedule to these regulations.
9. All mentions of ‘ratings’ in this Schedule shall be deemed to refer to ESG ratings, unless the context otherwise specifies

SEBI announced two additional schedules in addition to Schedule 5. The 6th Schedule outlines the payment requirements for the ESG Rating Provider, while the 7th Schedule specifies the 24  Code of Conduct that the ESG Provider must adhere to.
