The Ministry of Finance has undergone a major shuffle with important leadership changes of Tuhin Kanta Pandey and Arunish Chawla as notified by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet ( ACC ) on 8th January 2025.
Shri Tuhin Kanta Pandey, who was serving as the Secretary of the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM), has now been appointed as the Secretary of the Department of Revenue. He will also continue to serve as the Finance Secretary.

Tuhin Kanta Pandey, a senior IAS Officer from the Orissa cadre 1987 batch. He earned his Post Graduation in Economics from Punjab University and MBA from the United Kingdom.
Shri Arunish Chawla, who earlier held the position of Secretary of the Department of Revenue, has been appointed as the new Secretary of DIPAM. Additionally, he will temporarily take charge as Secretary of the Department of Public Enterprises and Secretary of the Ministry of Culture until a permanent appointment is made or further instructions are issued.
Arunish Chawla is a 1992-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Bihar cadre, serving as the Secretary in the Department of Pharmaceuticals in the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers since November 1, 2023.
