The Supreme Court of India has announced a prestigious opportunity for young legal minds with the release of its advertisement for the engagement of Law Clerk-cum-Research Associates on a short-term contractual basis.

The recruitment drive aims to empanel approximately 90 candidates for the term 2025-2026, offering a consolidated remuneration of ₹80,000 per month.

Candidates must fulfill the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Law (including integrated law courses) from an institution recognized by the Bar Council of India.
  • Final-year students of a 3-year or 5-year law course can also apply, provided they furnish proof of their law degree before taking up the assignment.
  • Proficiency in research, analytical skills, and computer operations for retrieving legal information through tools like SCC Online and LexisNexis.
  • Age must be between 20 and 32 years as of February 7, 2025.

Selection Process

  1. Part I: Multiple-choice questions assessing legal knowledge and comprehension.
  2. Part II: Subjective written examination testing analytical and writing skills.
  3. Part III: Personal interview.

The written examinations (Parts I and II) will occur on March 9, 2025, in two sessions across 23 cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata. Part I will be conducted online, while Part II requires written submissions.

Application Details

Interested candidates can apply online through the Supreme Court’s official website from January 14, 2025, to February 7, 2025. A non-refundable application fee of ₹500 must be paid via UCO Bank’s payment gateway.
