Tamil Nadu Government on Sunday had clarified that traders who collect GST on exempted goods will face serious consequences.
“There are some products which do not come under the purview of GST. If we come to know that a trader is collecting taxes for those products which are not covered under GST, we will take strong action against them”, Finance Minister D Jayakumar told yesterday.
Goods and Service Tax had been launched by the Government on July 1 with an aim to bring uniformity in tax rates in Indian market.
