GST Demand Order

Amrutanjan Health Care Limited has informed stock exchanges that it has received a Goods and Services Tax (GST) demand order of Rs. 1.17 crore from the tax authorities. The order was issued by the Commissioner of GST and Central Excise (Appeals I) under Section 73 of the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017.

According to the company’s disclosure to the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and BSE, the order relates to a reversal of Input Tax Credit (ITC) on account of a mismatch in the GSTR 2A records for the financial years 2017-18 to 2019-20. The tax demand amounts to Rs. 1,17,66,455, along with applicable interest and penalties.

Input Tax Credit allows businesses to claim credit for taxes already paid on purchases that are used to make taxable supplies. A GSTR 2A mismatch generally occurs when there are differences between the invoices uploaded by a supplier and the input tax claimed by the buyer.

The company stated that it does not agree with the order and plans to take appropriate legal steps to challenge it. Amrutanjan said it had claimed ITC only after fulfilling all the required conditions under GST law. The management believes the order is not justified and will be appealing against it.

In its statement, Amrutanjan clarified that the order will not have any significant financial impact on the company’s operations or profitability. The firm added that it will pursue rectification or reversal through the proper legal process. The order was received on October 17, 2025.
