Breaking Barriers: Physically Challenged Young Man Qualifies as CA
Srikumar completed his schooling in nearby institutions, graduated with a B.Com in Finance from Christ College, Irinjalakuda. Throughout his journey, his friends and family acted as a support system.

In an inspiring tale of determination and resilience, 27-year-old Srikumar Kerala has cleared the Chartered Accountant ( CA ) examination despite being unable to hold a book or even turn its pages due to a severe locomotor disability.
Srikumar’s decision to pursue the CA profession was firm and unwavering. His parents, Rajan and Mini, juggled work at nearby grocery shops while supporting his academic goals. The spark to become a Chartered Accountant was lit during a career guidance session at Christ College.
He later enrolled under the old CA scheme, cleared the Intermediate exam in 2023, and completed a three-year articleship under Chartered Accountant T.D. Johnson, who lives close to his residence.
The young man depended heavily on digital learning methods because of his physical constraints. His mother played an important role by scanning textbooks, many of them exceeding 400 pages and uploading them to Google Drive. This became his primary study material.
Since he could not sit for long hours, a special stand was fixed to his wheelchair to support his laptop, and a customised table was made to suit his height. For studying in bed, he used a stand along with cushions to support his body.
Sreekumar told Mathrubhumi that he wrote the CA exams with the help of a scribe, and for the final exam, his uncle’s son stepped in as the writer.
Srikumar completed his schooling in nearby institutions, graduated with a B.Com in Finance from Christ College, Irinjalakuda. Throughout his journey, his friends and family acted as a support system.
“Now I want to step into practical training on my own. I want to develop skills in this field,” he said to Mathrubhumi.
Srikumar’s journey stands as a powerful reminder that physical limitations cannot diminish mental strength or ambition.
