CBIC Amends ADD on Untreated Fumed Silica from China and Korea [Read Notification]
CBIC amended the earlier Notification No. 66/2021-Customs (ADD) to revise the anti-dumping duty on imports of Untreated Fumed Silica from China and Korea.
The Central Board of Indirect Taxes andCustoms (CBIC), under the Ministry of Finance, issued Notification No. 30/2025-Customs (ADD) dated October 27, 2025, amending the earlier Notification No. 66/2021-Customs (ADD) dated November 11, 2021.
The 2021 notification had originally imposed anti-dumping duty (ADD) on imports of Untreated Fumed Silica, a chemical product falling under tariff item 2811 22 00, originating from or exported by China PR and Korea RP.

The duty was introduced after investigations by the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) found that cheap imports were harming Indian manufacturers. The rates varied by exporter, for example, USD 1,018 per MT for M/s Shandong Dongyue Silicone Material Co. Ltd., and USD 1,296 per MT for other Chinese producers.
In the latest amendment, Notification No. 30/2025-Customs (ADD), CBIC has revised the anti-dumping duty figure from “1,296” to “1,296” (clarified or reaffirmed) in the relevant column of the 2021 notification. This modification ensures continuity and accuracy in the anti-dumping duty structure applicable to imports of Untreated Fumed Silica.

The amended notification came into immediate effect from October 27, 2025, and continues to safeguard Indian industry against the adverse impact of low-priced imports from China and Korea.
