CBIC Announces Farewell Meeting for Chairman and Senior Members

CBIC announced a farewell function on 28 November 2025 for its retiring Chairman and Members, including Sanjay Kumar Agarwal, Shashank Priya, and Aruna Narayan Gupta.

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs ( CBIC ) has announced that it will hold a farewell function for its top officials who are retiring at the end of this month.

According to an office memorandum issued on 19 November 2025, Chairman Sanjay Kumar Agarwal, Member (GST, CX & ST) Shashank Priya, and Member (Admin & Vigilance) Ms. Aruna Narayan Gupta will superannuate on 28 November 2025.

The farewell event will take place on 28 November 2025 at 4:00 PM in the Big Conference Hall (14000 B), C Wing, 4th Floor, Kartavya Bhawan-1, New Delhi. Senior officers posted in CBIC and those in Delhi/NCR, including Principal Chief Commissioners, Chief Commissioners, Directors General, and Deputy Secretaries, have been asked to attend.

The notice mentions that officers have been requested to contribute Rs. 500 to cover the arrangements for the function. Contributions are to be sent to Mr. Harish Kumar, Superintendent, whose contact details are provided in the memorandum.

The three retiring officials have each served long tenures in the Indian Revenue Service and have held important responsibilities across customs, excise, service tax, and GST administration. As Chairman, Shri Sanjay Kumar Agarwal has led the Board during a period marked by continued digital reforms and system strengthening.

Shri Shashank Priya, as Member handling GST, Central Excise and Service Tax, has contributed to policy discussions and implementation work in these areas. Ms. Aruna Narayan Gupta, as Member (Admin & Vigilance), has overseen human resources, administrative functions and vigilance matters within CBIC. Their retirement marks the conclusion of decades of service in indirect tax administration.
