Delhivery Limited has received a demand order from the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Department amounting to Rs. 49.19 crore. The order was issued by the Joint Commissioner of the Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Commissionerate, Faridabad, on November 3, 2025.

The logistics company said that the order has been passed under Section 74 of the CGST Act, 2017, along with corresponding provisions of the State GST and Integrated GST Acts. The demand covers the period from the financial year 2018-19 to 2022-23 up to July 2022. It includes interest and a penalty equal to 100 percent of the tax amount.

According to the company, the demand has arisen due to a difference in the interpretation of the applicable GST rate on certain services. The tax authorities have claimed that there was short payment or non-payment of GST for some of the services provided during the mentioned period.

Delhivery has stated that the issue relates to how the tax rate notification was interpreted, and not to any act of deliberate non-compliance.

The company explained that it had raised this issue with the GST Council through an industry forum in September 2024 to seek clarification from the government on the applicable tax rate. It further said that based on its own assessment and the prevailing legal position, it is confident of receiving a favourable outcome at higher appellate forums.

Delhivery also mentioned that it does not expect this order to have any material impact on its financial performance or day-to-day operations.
