The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has issued Notification dated April 17, 2026, announcing the inclusion of Egypt and Jordan under the RELIEF export support scheme. The move expands the list of eligible destinations under the Resilience and Logistics Intervention for Export Facilitation (RELIEF) initiative.

The RELIEF scheme was introduced in March 2026 under the Export Promotion Mission (EPM) to support Indian exporters facing disruptions in global logistics and trade routes. With this latest amendment, exporters shipping goods to Egypt and Jordan will now be eligible for benefits under the scheme.

Key Highlights of the Notification

  • Egypt and Jordan have been added to the list of eligible export destinations
  • Applies to shipments meant for delivery or transshipment
  • Amendment made to earlier Notification No. 65/2025-26 dated March 19, 2026
  • All other provisions of the original scheme remain unchanged

What RELIEF Scheme Covers

  • Provides support to exporters affected by logistics disruptions
  • Focuses on regions facing geopolitical and supply chain challenges
  • Encourages continuity of exports through financial and policy support
  • Linked to the broader Export Promotion Mission (EPM) framework

Why Egypt and Jordan Matter

  • Both countries are key markets in the West Asia and North Africa region
  • Inclusion reflects ongoing trade route disruptions and shipping challenges
  • Helps exporters dealing with delays, higher freight costs, and uncertainty

Impact on Exporters

  • Expands market coverage under RELIEF benefits
  • Reduces financial and operational risks for exporters
  • Encourages diversification of export destinations
  • Supports sustained trade flows despite global challenges

The inclusion of these countries signals the government’s continued effort to support exporters by adapting policy measures to evolving global trade conditions and logistics disruptions.
