The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has issued Trade Notice No. 14/2025-26 dated 27 October 2025, announcing the pilot launch of the “Bharat Aayat Niryat Lab Setu” platform.

The initiative aims to digitise and streamline the testing and certification process for India’s exports and imports, allowing traders to access accredited laboratories through a single online portal.

The new system will connect exporters, importers, and authorised testing and inspection agencies across India through a centralised digital platform. The pilot phase of the Lab Setu will begin on 4 November 2025, with selected laboratories being onboarded to the platform.

Exporters and importers will be able to submit applications for product testing and certification through the portal starting 11 November 2025.

According to the DGFT, the initiative has been designed to make trade facilitation faster, transparent, and paperless. The platform will enable traders to search for accredited laboratories, apply for testing, upload necessary documents, and track the progress of their applications online.

Once the testing is complete, the laboratories will issue digitally signed test reports that can be verified online or by scanning a QR code.

In the pilot phase, laboratories under the Tea Board, Coffee Board, and Rubber Board will participate in the project. The DGFT explained that more laboratories, including those from commodity boards, ExportPromotion Councils (EPCs), and private testing agencies, will be added in the coming months.

Each lab will have designated administrators and managers to ensure smooth functioning and quality control.

The DGFT has also set up a dedicated helpdesk and online support system to assist exporters and importers in using the new platform. User manuals, FAQs, and contact information will be made available on the official DGFT website.

The move is expected to strengthen India’s export competitiveness and eliminate manual paperwork and delays. The Bharat Aayat Niryat Lab Setu will help enhance the credibility of Indian goods in global markets. The trade notice was issued with the approval of the competent authority and signed by Ashwani Kumar Ojha, Deputy Director, DGFT.
